Fall Workshop Paused for 2020

The Conservation Areas Workshop Committee hosted by Credit Valley Conservation has made the difficult decision to push pause on the 2020 conference.

This decision is a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. We want to protect the health, safety and well-being of our workshop attendees, exhibitors and sponsors.

The Workshop has been a staple in Ontario for the past 13 years. It has provided opportunities for conservation land managers, parks staff and stewards to reconnect and gain from the valuable training and experiences shared through this network. We are proud of the many programs, presentations and keynotes that we’ve shared.

Connecting our conservation authorities’ resources is more important than ever. Our shared experiences and network of peers helps to ensure safe, consistent, innovative and reliable decision-making on our public land assets.

As the second-largest landowner in Ontario, our natural spaces welcome over 7 million visitors each year. The continued management of our conservation areas remains an essential priority and deserves our foremost attention as we navigate through the COVID-19 pandemic.

This 2020 workshop pause will give our organizing team an opportunity to plan an even greater conference and training experience in 2021. We continue to assess the needs of workshop attendees, exhibitors and sponsors in the future. We want to focus on the big issues and collaborate to find solutions. We’re all in this together. We’re here to share, advise and support each other.

The Conservation Areas Workshop Committee is working to provide learning opportunities in 2020. We encourage you to subscribe below to the Annual Conservation Areas Workshop for updates, if you haven’t already. Thank you for your understanding. We’ll be together again soon.
